Laos is officially the Lao People's Democratic Republic today and elephants are not so numerous anymore but Laos is still the land to meet people whose kindness and hospitality is renowned Bordered with its neighbours China, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Myanmar, the RDP Lao occupy a regional geo strategic situation. Laos has kept exceptionally rich and diversified vegetation and also hosts a number of animal species to be discovered or rediscovered. The country has two World Heritage sites
Luang Prabang and Vat Phou
The Plain of Jars remains a mystery: nobody knows the origin or purpose of these amazing stone jars.
To help people to discover and explore Laos, the « Carterie du laos », together with Lao National Tourism Administration, decided to edit a guide, freely distributed all over the country and presented to the most highlighted tourism conventions (Berlin, Paris, Singapore etc.)
The “GUIDE DU LAOS” became a success story and the team decided to launch a website: destination-laos.net was born. We sincerely hope that the following pages will contribute to help you to discover this country with its authentic charms and traditions, escape from mass tourism.
