The economy of Laos has been growing steadily for years, thanks in large part to tourism, which brought $233 million into the economy in 2007, the most recent figures available. Laos has a rich array of historical, cultural, and eco-tourist attractions, boasting two World Heritage Sites, the ancient ruins of Vat Phou, and the city of temples, Luang Prabang. Visitors to this wonderful country have their choice of over 1000 tourist sites, 579 natural attractions, and 257 cultural attractions.
